Kenai River Women's Classic

Dates for 2010 are September 9, 10 and 11

Alaska's top female professionals come together each September to raise money for habitat restoration and research on the Kenai River, and to help fund a scholarship for high school girls who are interested in entrepreneurship. The event includes two days of silver salmon fishing, networking events, day activities and an evening professional development panel.

Women, who might not otherwise get the chance to fish, come together and learn about each other and the Kenai River and this event confirms that Alaskan women, even the ones who had never tried it, love to fish!

Proceeds from the Kenai River Women's Classic are shared between KRSA's habitat restoration fund and the Anchorage Chamber of Commerce Athena Society's scholarship program. This program provides scholarships for female high school students to attend Camp $tartUp, a business camp that teaches business and entrepreneurial skills.
